WHAT MAKES CrossFit Lowco DIFFERENT?

OUR WHY

Opening CrossFit LowCo has been our dream since we found CrossFit in 2016, and now after being open for the last year and a half, I can’t imagine life without it. With an amazing support group we were able to build the premier CrossFit gym in Charleston that has every piece of equipment that you could ask for including a sauna and a cold tub, a true CrossFitters dream. We support the every day person looking to improve their strength and health, while also supporting the highest levels of athletes chasing their athletic dreams.

Our coaching staff has grown and developed to become one of the best there is. We have 2 L3 coaches, 4 L2 coaches, an Olympic weightlifter who has qualified for the US Olympic team, one of the best nutrition coaches in the fitness space, a professional golfer, and a Strength and Conditioning coach that worked with the South Carolina Gamecocks football team. Our coaches’ collective experience is unmatched.

Finally, we have a community that truly enjoys spending time together every day and comes together to take care of each other. Every class in the building is filled with laughter and friendly conversation and fosters an environment where it’s impossible not to meet like-minded people. Bobby Gierszal

CF-L3, M.S. Exercise Science, CSCS

Hey guys! I am the owner of CrossFit LowCo along with my lovely wife Haley! I am passionate about helping people “find your power”, which to me, means building your confidence and discovering what you’re capable of physically and mentally. I love competing in CrossFit and am also a former strength coach for the USC Gamecock football team, so I am a huge sports fan as well! Outside of coaching CrossFit and running the gym, I love to spend time with Haley and our 2 dogs and cats, I love to golf (even though I am terrible), and I love cooking!

Haley Gierszal

Hi! I’m Haley and I am the co-owner of CrossFit LowCo. My passion is helping women and athletes break free from the cycle of under-fueling, overtraining, and chasing smaller bodies so they can build real strength, confidence, and performance that lasts. As a CrossFit athlete and nutrition coach, I believe fitness should empower you, not punish you. My coaching blends functional fitness, performance nutrition, mindset work, and sustainable habits to help people become stronger inside and outside the gym. Whether you’re stepping into CrossFit for the first time or chasing big athletic goals, I’m committed to helping you find confidence in your body and trust in what it can do!

I am the owner of Victory Leadership alongside my wife Sarah. I am a business leader with more than 15 years of experience driving growth, leading teams, and building strong client relationships across the  fitness space. My favorite things about coaching CrossFit are a thriving community culture and helping others discover who they are created to be. Outside of the gym, I enjoy surfing & skateboarding with my family.

Andrea Jones

CF-L2, CSCS, RN, CF Coaching the Aging Athlete Certification

I’m Andrea, a former critical care nurse who found a second passion later in life as a CrossFit coach.  I coach the Forever Fit class at CrossFit LowCo and love helping my clients build strength, improve their health, and live their best lives outside of the gym.  My personal fitness goal is to stay one step ahead of my teenage boys for as long as possible – even though I know it’s a losing battle.  Outside of coaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing board games, and hanging out with my pug, Fritz.

Frank Minervini

CF-L3, PN-L1 (Precision Nutrition), B.S. Health Science and Education, CrossFit Spot the Flaw, Aging Athlete, Anatomy, Nutrition, Programming, & Scaling Certifications

My name is Frank Anthony Minervini Jr., and I am passionate about helping people grow, stay consistent, and ultimately change their lives through fitness and coaching. One of my favorite parts about coaching CrossFit is watching confidence, discipline, and progress build over time — not just physically, but mentally as well. I love creating an environment where people feel supported while pushing themselves to become better every day. Outside of the gym, you can usually find me on a pier or out on the beach surf fishing, enjoying the outdoors and chasing the next big catch.

Brett Flower

With over 20 years of leadership experience in both construction and fitness, I’m passionate about helping people build stronger foundations. As a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer with coaching experience in multiple Charleston gyms, I’ve developed a deep passion for helping everyday athletes unlock confidence, resilience, and long-term growth both inside and outside the gym. I believe fitness should create opportunity, accountability, and community — and for me, that community ultimately led to meeting my wife and becoming a father to my son. Coaching has never been just about workouts; it’s about building lasting relationships, creating positive environments, and helping people realize they’re capable of far more than they think.

Allee Tallman

USAW L1, PN-L1 (Precision Nutrition), NCI-L1 (Nutritional Coaching Institute)

I’m Allee, a nutrition coach, former Olympic weightlifter and Division 1 athlete. I grew up in competitive athletics, became a 2x All-American in Acrobatics & Tumbling, and later earned a spot representing Team USA in Olympic weightlifting. I love helping people push past self-doubt and discover what happens when they start showing up consistently for themselves! When I’m not coaching or training, you can usually find me hanging out with my mini dachshund Willa or exploring new coffee shops.

Patrick Moriarty

Professional Golfer

My name is Patrick Moriarty and I am a coach at CrossFit LowCo. I am a professional golfer and CrossFit is a great supplement to my golf training. The support and encouragement in the CrossFit community has changed my appreciation for working out. Now I’m addicted to the gym. I love helping people find their own passion and breaking both physical and mental barriers.

Eli Britt

CF-L1, Burgener Strength L1

Hey everyone, I’m Eli! I’ve been doing CrossFit since 2017 and later earned my CrossFit Level 1 because I loved helping people grow in confidence both inside and outside the gym. My favorite part about coaching is watching athletes hit milestones they didn’t think were possible—whether it’s their first pull-up, a PR lift, or simply showing up more consistently for themselves. Outside of the gym, I serve in the U.S. Coast Guard and have worked in IT for the last 12 years. I’m originally from Lompoc, California, and when I’m not coaching or training, I’m usually spending time with my family, building projects around the house, watching movies, or diving into anything Lego-related.

Oscar de Luzuriaga

CF-L2, USAW L1, CrossFit Kids

I grew up in Asia which is where my CrossFit journey began, completely unaware that I would meet people across the world because of it. I love the relationships I’ve built on my shared passion of fitness and being able to positively impact people’s lives brings me purpose. I started coaching in 2019 as a part time job and I quickly wanted to take on more classes because of how much I love it. It’s a privilege to be part of LowCo.

I won the award for most overtakes in the 2018 USF2000 series.
